After dark, Kate enters Jack's house alone and is arrested, as is Sayid. Locke threatened Ben, while holding Alex in the door for cover, avoiding Tom and Richard. He asks Alex to fetch Sayid's bag, and she learns implicitly that her mother is not dead in her contact with Sayid. Jack visits Kate and tells her that he has made a deal and can go home in the morning, but will come back to see her. Kate might realize that Jack knew about her relationship with Sawyer. Ben knew Locke's background, talked to him, and concluded that the island's magic made him want to blow up a submarine. Before Locke left, he told him that the submarine had to go one way or the other, because contact with the outside world was broken and Jack was going to take it off. Alex took him to the boat. Rousseau peeked at her daughter and wept. Before Lcoke blew up the submarine, Jack and Juliet, who asked Ben to let Kate and Sayid go, got a promise to let someone go if they "left" the island. Ben, who was born on the island, used Locke to blow up submarines that no one could leave, and the members he recruited and hoped would not blame him. Finally, Ben, aware of Locke's fear of being pushed down the eighth floor by his father, shows him Anthony, whom his group captured from Tallahassee.
Locke: after removing disability insurance, because he stopped treatment. Looking for him through a kidney donation, Peter suspects that his mother's latest good man, Anthony Locke's father, is a fraud. Locke hid his relationship with his father and asked him to end it. After Peter's death, Locke visited him. Anthony denied the killing because the wedding was canceled and he couldn't get any money. He pushed Locke off the eighth floor and put him in a wheelchair for four years.
