The three Michael are knocked out and thrown into a pit. Kate who got the gun attacked Desmond. Jack tied him up. The computer was smoking. Desmond said to fix it. Locke believes Desmond. Desmond asked Jack and Locke to see a videotape of "orientation," where he had been stranded three years ago on a solo trip around the world and was brought in by Kelvin, who later died, to work with him numerically to save the world. Sawyer, who tried to get out, was stabbed and a woman was thrown in. Locke and Jack see the DHARMA logo in the video, which Dr Marvin Candle says is about the directional initiative code for base station 3 (also known as the Cygnus), created in 1970 for scientists to study the unique electromagnetic fluctuations emitted by the island, where each person stays for 540 days. But it didn't take long for this wide-ranging study to come up with an accident in which someone typed in code every 108 minutes and the computer could not be used. This was for the benefit of the program and of DeGroots, Alvar Hanso (Danish industrialist, arms dealer). The film ends with "The Hanso Foundation, 1980." Locke said he'd watch it again. Ana Lucia said she walked out of the crash and was found by the group yesterday. Jack asks Desmond where the food came from, and no answer. Desmond packed his bags and ran away, saying the farther away the better. There was a picture of him with a woman on the table. With 47 minutes left in the countdown, Jack leaves Locke alone in fear. Kate brings Sayid and Hurley. Kate goes to the box with Hurley. Sawyer engineered his death, and Ana Lucia took the gun and asked her partner to take it out. Jack follows Desmond, doesn't listen to the code, says nothing will happen. Desmond recognized Jack and asked the woman he saved. Jack was out of control. Desmond. Sayid fixed it, Locke was going to enter the number, Hurley tried to stop it, Locke put the last number in 32, and Jack came in and said 42, but he didn't want to press it. Locke said it took two people to do it, and Jack pressed the return at the last minute.
Locke: a few years after he was tricked, he went to a support group for a month without speaking, and this time he got into a tirade about people being upset about something. Helen admired him and kept company. After they slept, Locke said that other people couldn't sleep in their beds, but loved her. Helen drives him to throw his key into Anthony's door. She says he is afraid of everything and asks him to choose between the two. Helen convinced him.
