Daniel had been doing research at his headquarters in Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor, when he came back after seeing pictures of Jack and others in '77. When he comes back, Miles brings him to Jack and says Jack doesn't belong here. Eloise is wrong. He asked Miles to take him to the orchid station, and met Chang below (like in the first episode of this season). He told him that the swan station would have a similar accident six hours later. He knew it was because he was from the future. Jack finds Sawyer and says Daniel, Juliet let him know about Phil. Sawyer called Kate, Hurley, and Jin to a meeting and said he would go back to camp in the jungle without a submarine. Jin and Hurley said they were not going. When Miles and Daniel return, Daniel will go to the others to find his mother, Ellie, who is the only one who can bring them back to reality. Sawyer won't let Jack ask Kate's address. Juliet tells Kate the code of defense system. Miles gives it to him. Sawyer had to get everyone to pack up. When Daniel meets Charlotte outside, he tells her that there will be a submarine soon. She wants to go with her mother, and he may be able to change the situation. Kate advised Jack to take the gun, and Jack led them to get it. When Horace and others arrived, they found that they took the gun and started a shootout. Daniel was grazed by the bullet. When Kate typed the code, Daniel said that each of them would die because they live now. Daniel tells Kate and Jack that the disaster will require them to build a cabin and press buttons on the machine for 20 years to suppress the energy, and that Desmond forgot to press the buttons and caused the crash of 815. He also said they were constants that could change the future, and that he needed to detonate a hydrogen bomb he had seen more than two decades ago. At the others' camp, Daniel goes alone. The gun wants to see Eloise. Richard comes out to say that she is not there. Horace sounded the alarm, went back to Sawyer, but found Phil, and the three subdued him with Juliet.
Desmond was taken to the hospital after coping with Ben. Eloise showed up and said Daniel caused the accident. For the first time in years, she didn't know what was going to happen. But Desmond is ok. Eloise goes out and sees Charles. He says he has sacrificed his relationship with his daughter.
Daniel: Eloise thinks he has a talent for math, and from childhood he was forced to work hard in science. Later, when he became Oxford's youngest doctor, Eloise was not nice to Theresa around him on graduation day. When eating alone, she said that Theresa was just a booster of his experiment, and his girlfriend would be the great pain of his life. Daniel says Charles gave him $1.5 million to do the experiment. She left behind a gift that was a notebook, which Daniel often took with her. When the news of the crash of 815 was seen, Theresa was already dead, and his mind and memory were severely damaged, being cared for by Caroline. Charles came to him and told him that the news was fake, and that he was going to send Charles to the island to further experiment, and that it would cure him. Eloise knew and supported him to go. Daniel is able to pinpoint space-time.
