Arzt, a teacher by profession, told Michael and others that the monsoon season is coming soon, and if you can only go to the Antarctic, but the next favorable wind period will be long. Michael decides to drive the next day, and Kate tells him she wants to go with him because she will sail the boat, but Michael says it's full. Locke told Sayid to take Jack to the hatch. Michael tells Sawyer that Kate wants to go to find her. He says she just wants to escape from the police. Kate says she will get what she wants. Michael has a stomach ache. Walt asks Kate and Sun for help. Jack says open the hatch. Sayid thinks there's no place to open the hatch outside. Kate finds Jack. He finds out that someone poisoned him in the water. Sawyer was suspected by Michael, and Hurley mentioned Kate. Claire cut Charlie's hair and suggested she bring her son to him after they were rescued. From Kate's words and actions Jack suspected that she had poisoned him. Walt told Locke he didn't poison him. Locke took him by the hand and said he wouldn't sell him. Michael doesn't accept Sawyer's medicine. He angrily accuses him of being a criminal. Kate could only admit that she was wanted, but indicated that she had not poisoned herself. But everyone left her. Sawyer was requalified for the boat. Jack finds Sun because he knows she wants Jin to stay. Sun says he doesn't want him to die on the boat, and Michael drinks it by mistake. Jack understands his mood and doesn't plan to go public, but says Jin is a must-go. At night, Sawyer approached Kate to offer a veiled apology. She asked him why he left so quickly, and he said there was no meaning left, and they both looked thoughtful. Walt told the first time he burned the raft because he didn't want to go. Michael said he could stay as long as he wanted. Sun looks to Kate and says she was punished for trying to help her, but Jack knows the truth and won't tell the secret.
Kate: she went to get a letter from Joan Hart, read it and cried on the car with the fake license plate. She went to the hospital to see her mother, Diane Jansen, and avoided security. Diane has cancer and will die. She went to the back seat of Tom's car to wait for him. She asked him for help. Tom asked Adam for a radiological examination. In the middle of the night at Tom's house, Kate learns that he's married to Rachel and has children Connor. She asked him to dig out the suitcase they had buried in 1989, which contained Tom's plane, his hat and a recording of their marriage when they grew up. They held back their former love affair.Tom gave her a chance to see her mother. After she opened her eyes, Diane cried and said she was sorry for all she had suffered. Suddenly Diane shouted for help and Kate could only escape. When the security guard tried to catch her, she knocked him unconscious. She asked Tom for his car key. Tom walked with her. The plane was still in the car.
