After he failed to find Sawyer, Horace asked Miles to join the circle of trust and help bring an enemy territory to Radzinsky without asking questions. He picks up a dead body and talks to it on the way. After he got back, Horace asked him to take the body to Dr. Chang. Hurley, who was delivering food, wanted a ride. On the way, Hurley found that Miles told him the body was Alvarez. He thought about the woman named Andrea as he dug the hole. Then he felt a sharp pain in his mouth. Miles refused to say why he knew, and Hurley said he could communicate with the dead. Miles said he could read the memories in the dead man's head. Upon arrival Chang knew Hurley was also informed and threatened him with secrecy. When Chang made Miles wait, Miles told Hurley that Chang was his father. Hurley asks Chang what he's calling Marvin Candle, Miles doesn't want to talk about Chang, only that there's a first clue here in a couple of days, and feels that everyone in DHARMA itself is dying, there's no need to rescue him. Since Chang came out, Hurley has been matching Miles and Chang. Chang took them to a secluded construction site where someone was chiseling the serial number on the manifest, which Hurley found to be the six Numbers that led to the crash of 815. On the way back, Hurley asked Miles to get to know his father and avoid pain. At night Miles went to peep at Chang and saw him teasing his childhood self. Chang then got the call and came out just in time for Miles to take him to the pier to pick up the new scientist. Miles meets Daniel.
Roger, who went to fetch the medicine, came back to see Ben missing. Kate and Juliet, who confronted him on the scene, were frustrated. Kate later consoled him with doubts. Roger goes and asks Jack. Jack says nice things about Kate. Jack went to Juliet and said Sawyer was worried and angry. Jack said Roger had not told anyone else. After Jack left, Phil said he knew his behavior because of the videotape. Sawyer said he could explain, letting him in and knock him down.
Miles: the down-and-out mother took the 10-year-old to find a house. Miles first heard the body speak to him. Miles, who had left long after her mother lay in bed years later, asked her why she was doing this, and how and where her father was. His mother told him only that his father had chased them away when he was a baby and that they were dead, but she did not tell him where the body was.Miles said in the AD that he could communicate with the dead. Mr. Gray went to him to see if his dead son knew he loved him. Miles said there were no bodies, asked for more money and told his son what he knew. After coming out, Naomi looks for him and gives him money to identify a corpse. She learns that Felix is about to send a purchase order to Charles before he dies. Naomi invited him to the island to find a man who killed a lot of people, and to look through a lot of bodies. At first Miles refused, and Naomi said he would get $1.6 million. When he was asked what was in the shadow of the statue, Miles said he was not ready to go to the island. They said if he came, he would know why he had that gift and who his father was. Miles said now only CARES about money, and if they can pay $3.2 million, don't go. The other side did not agree, after putting him down, said he chose the wrong way.
