Ben in the hospital bed opened his eyes and was horrified to find Locke alive. Ben said he would return to receive what they called the "monster" trial. During a conversation on the beach, Ben leads Caesar to believe in Locke's insanity. Locke decides to help Ben. Ben says it's all in the island's interest. Caesar takes two people to organize the boat. Ben steals a gun to kill him. When they came to the island, Locke said he lied, that Ben had come back because he broke the rules, and that he was going to stand trial for killing his daughter. In the evening, the two meet Sun and Frank in Alex's room. They say Christian makes them wait. Frank urged Sun to go, but she stayed for Jin. Ben goes in and summons the black smoke, and Locke is not there when he comes out. Ben tells Sun that Locke is dead, Jack is not lying, and Locke is a miracle. Locke appeared and said if you can't summon him, go find him. They went to the temple, from where Rousseau's men had gone. Ben says he killed Alex himself and deserves to be punished. And then he goes on his own, and he falls in, and there's a lot of ancient writing on the wall, including a drawing of a werewolf talking to black smoke in ancient Egypt. Black smoke appeared. He saw Alex's past events. When the smoke cleared, he saw Alex and said he was sorry. Alex, smiling, grabbed him and said he knew he wanted to kill Locke again, told him not to hurt Locke, and listened, and left. Locke rescued Ben.
When Frank returned, someone said that the island was under the control of Ilana and the other three. Ilana met him and asked what was hidden in the shadow of the statue.
Ben: Charles asked Richard to take Ben to the temple. Richard said Jacob asked him to go. Charles went in to see Ben, who said he wanted to stay. When Ben grew up, he took Ethan to deal with Rousseau. Alex was sleeping in the cradle when Ben took Alex. He didn't kill her, but she was not allowed to be tracked. Back home, Charles asks him that he didn't kill Rousseau, and Ben says he didn't tell him she had a baby, and she's crazy. There's no need to kill her. When Charles tried to kill Alex, Ben asked him if Jacob's idea was to let the other side do it, but Charles left, and Richard was waiting. When Alex was several years old, Ben went to send Charles who was about to board the submarine. Charles asked that he would not sacrifice everything for the island, such as Alex, and Ben said he was the only one who wanted her to die.Charles: if Ben's wrong, the island wants her dead, and he'll be kicked out, just like himself. In 2008, Ben called Charles and said he was going back to the island as long as he killed Penny. He knocked down Desmond first, and was about to shoot Penny when her son came up. In a moment of weakness, Desmond subdued him and threw him into the water.
