Jack refused to operate on Ben in Juliet's presence. While Kate and Sawyer were working, Alex, who broke the wall, hit others with a slingshot and pressed Karl on his whereabouts, while trying to get Kate to escape. After being captured, she tells Kate they'll kill her boyfriend, Sawyer. Juliet told Danny that the plan was advanced, and asked Kate to use the sack to persuade Jack. Kate was heartbroken to see Sawyer climb out and save him when he was brought back. Jack is alerted to the female voice on the phone and sees Kate's intimacy with Sawyer in the surveillance room. Ben comes in. Jack agrees to have an operation. He threatened Ben during the operation and called Kate to let them escape just as Danny was about to kill Sawyer. Locke saw the stick saying "John, keep your eyes up north" while burying Eko.
Kate: she got married to police Kevin under the name of Monica and asked the agent Edward not to keep track of her. To keep Kevin from losing his job, she charmed him off.
