Sawyer took care of Jin in Claire's cottage. Jin knew that black smoke was coming back and wanted to leave. Sawyer said that they were all in the same group and promised him to take Sun and leave the island together. But Sawyer didn't follow anyone's instructions to Kate. John said that he had a few days to get to his destination. Sawyer would talk to him, tell him in private that he was black smoke, and send Sawyer to spy on the hydra station (where he, Kate and Jack were locked up at the time) in order to get the plane. John said Sawyer was the best con man he had ever seen. Zoe, the man who met Charles after seeing a large number of bodies, was taken under the submarine, passing through a locked room. Kate was attacked by Claire, Sayid was unmoved, and John picked Claire off. Kate was very sad, and when she cried alone, John spoke to her. He told her that he told Claire that others took Aaron because they wanted her to have someone to hate, so she could live, and said he would protect everyone. John took her to the beach where he could see a hydra, and said that Aaron, like him, had a crazy mother when he was a kid, and there would be childhood shadow. Claire found Kate, held her and cried and apologized, and thanked her for taking care of Aaron. Sawyer makes a deal with Charles, and he tells John that there's no one here, that it's safe, and then brings the other person here for Charles to kill, on condition that he doesn't hurt his people and takes them away. But when he got back, he told John the truth and explained to Kate that he and she were going to kill each other while he and she were off in a submarine.
Sawyer: the woman who was deeply in bed with him told him it was 8:42 because he said he had a 9 o 'clock appointment. Sawyer got up behind her and "accidentally" let the woman see her box of money. She got suspicious and pulled out the gun. The woman refused and he uttered the slogan "Lafleur," and the other officers came in and subdued her. Sawyer is now a police officer, and Miles is his partner. At the police station, Sawyer called Anthony Cooper numerous times and hid the truth from Miles, who reminded him of his date tonight. His date was Charlotte, a friend of Miles's who worked at the museum (and Miles's father). When she went to bed with her, she saw the cover of SAWYER's book written on it. When she learned of his accident when he was nine years old and saw the photo, SAWYER was furious and asked her to leave immediately. The TV says that people die, but they don't really leave because there are good memories to hold us together. Sawyer went to Charlotte with a sunflower (he also gave Juliet on the island) and half a dozen beers, and was not accepted. Back at the police station, Liam comes to ask Charlie.Miles talks to Sawyer. Sawyer thinks he's blaming himself for the date, but Miles checks his credit card records, knows he's not traveling in palm springs, and asks him what he's doing in Australia. Sawyer later told Miles the truth in his car and showed him the book, explaining that he didn't want Miles to stop him. When a car hit his car in a hurry, Sawyer got out of the car and found it was Kate.
