As the story closes at the end of last season, survivors leave Atlanta for Benin's military base and hope the surviving army will provide shelter for them. The road ahead was blocked by a pile of obsolete cars, and Dale's wagon also broke down at this time. The crowd had to split in two places: some were in charge of repairing cars and some were looking for supplies. A large group of zombies suddenly appeared, survivors are not hard-hitting, had fun playing "hide and seek" game. Fortunately, these zombies have passed smoothly, and a handful of troubles have also been eliminated. A clever zombie discovered Carol's daughter, Sophia, and chased after an accomplice immediately. Sophia panicked into the jungle. Rick chased the past and killed the two zombies, but Sophia was gone. Daryl and Rick immediately set out to look for Sophia. Daryl finds Sophia's footprint fading away, and there's a nearby zombie wandering. After killing the zombie, Rick decided to figure out whether it had eaten Sophia. However, they found that the zombie was not eating Sophia but a groundhog. The sky is getting dark, they had no choice but to return, waiting for the next morning to continue looking for. Carol blames Rick for missing Sophia, Andrea blames Dale for not saving her, Lori and Shane for the Cold War. The next day everyone went out looking for Sophia. They found a travel tent, but Sophia was not there; another church was found and Sophia was still out. After killing three of the zombies who occupy the church, they decided to take a rest, by the way, praying the blessings of Christ Jesus. Shane secretly told Lori when Rick did not pay attention, and he planned to leave the team because he was now an alien. Andrea overhears Shane and Lori's conversation and decides to leave with Shane. After prayers for help from God, Rick continued his search for Sophia with his sons Carl and Shane, while Lori and Daryl brought others back to the station wagon. Carl was very excited when Rick, Carl and Shane met a deer on the way. Suddenly, a bullet hit the deer's body and hit Carl again, and Carl fell in a pool of blood.
