A "companion" of four Aryans and a Jew, celebrated in a pub. Gentlemen Ge LiTa and jew Wei KeDuo are lovers, even though in 1941 Nazi Germany had enacted a decree banning Wei Lian and Friedhelm from going to the Soviet front. Their fathers wanted them to "win glory for the country." The Aryans and Jews marry or even touch, but this does not prevent the profound friendship between Wei KeDuo, a son of a famous tailor, and his four Aryan friends; the aspiring girl, Xia LuoTe, just met the qualifications of a nurse, Go to the front line, in the field hospital services. This is the eve of the blitzkrieg that Germany launched against the Soviet Union in June 1941.
