Adapted from the Dutch TV series "Penoza," about the story of a criminal group leader who was killed, his widow saved her family's position in the group in order to protect her family. Come and meet Marta Walraven, an ordinary suburban housewife in Northern California. She has a husband who loves her, a beautiful house overlooking the entire Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge, and three obedient children. To outsiders, this family's life is so beautiful ... But behind this happy life, there is an unknown world of gangs hidden. Marta's father Andrei Petrova (Rade Sherbedzija), her brother Irwin Petrova (Wil Traval), her husband Franklin and loyal family bodyguard Luther (Luke Goss) are all gangsters who seek to profit by illegal means. Although she and her sister Jaime Ray Newman both want a quiet life and do not want to kill and be scared all day long, she has been indifferent to the behavior of her family for years and left them alone - until Franklin was murdered. Marta learned that her husband's life and business associates - sinister Irwin Petrova and Mike Tomlin (Lee Tergesen) - were involved in an illegal drug deal that would likely offend another rival that led to her husband paying a high cost. FBI agent James Ramos (Mido Hamada) found Marta and promised to help her find justice. Marta never thought she would be so strong, she is determined to revenge her husband at all costs, while allowing three children to live safely. This means that she will embark on the same criminal path as her husband and join the family's criminal group. Marta's deepening darkness in this black underground world, her strength, intelligence, determination, and emotional bond with her family will take an unprecedented test.
