Hero asked why Aegeus abandoned himself and his mother and also announced to the world that his youngest son had the mastery of the secret, Aegeus explained that he did so in order to be responsive to the people. Hero shows that they do not want to solve the mystery of the secret, but want to get rid of it. In the meantime, King Minos received a letter from Lykos agreeing to meet with him, while he treated the meeting as a trap and hoped to do it for himself.
