After many failed to find an affair, Kublai Khuzman, the deputy regent (lame muslim) of the Bookseller Province, conceded that he was behind the scenes to assassinate Kublai Khan in return for Marco Polo life. In order to justify the atonement, Marco Polo offered Kublai a way of making a trebuchet.
