Joan Chen (or Chen Chong; born April 26, 1961) is a Chinese American actress, film director, screenwriter, and film producer. In China she performed in the 1979 film Little Flower and came to international attention for her performance in the 1987 Academy Award-winning film The Last Emperor. She is also known for her roles in Twin Peaks; Red Rose, White Rose; Saving Face; and The Home Song Stories, and for directing the feature film Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl.
Ping-Yu Chang, female, Han nationality. Born in February 16, 1940, origin Wuhe, Anhui, was born in Beibei, Chongqing, moved to Nanjing in 1949 with home. After graduating from high school in 1959 into the Beijing Film Studio as an actor, the following year participated in the film "Red Flag" filming, in the film as a rural girl Chunlan. Her performance is a natural, honest, subtle, clear-cut and well-defined character development, convincingly shaping a typical image of the new rural women in China in the 1920s. The successful shaping of Chunlan's image has laid a solid foundation for Ping-Yu Chang's creation.
Zhang Yu is a mainland Chinese film actress. Zhang is the first actress to win both the Golden Rooster Award and the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Actress, for Romance on Lushan Mountain. She was nominated for the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Actress and the Huabiao Award for Outstanding Actress for Ren Changxia (2005).
