Bruno Ganz (German:  ( listen); born 22 March 1941) is a Swiss actor who has been a prominent figure in German language film and television for over fifty years. He has collaborated several times with filmmaker Wim Wenders, first as Jonathan Zimmerman in The American Friend (1977) and again as Damiel the Angel in both Wings of Desire (1987) and Faraway, So Close! (1993).

Nastassja Aglaia Kinski (born 24 January 1961) is a German actress and former model who has appeared in more than 60 films in Europe and the United States. She enjoyed her worldwide breakthrough with Stay As You Are (1978), then came to global prominence with her Golden Globe Award-winning performance as the title character in the Roman Polanski–directed film Tess (1979). Other notable films in which she acted include the erotic horror Cat People (1982), the Wim Wenders dramas Paris, Texas (1984) and Faraway, So Close! (1993), and An American Rhapsody (2001).

Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, GCL (/ˈɡɔːrbəˌtʃɒf, ˈɡɜːr-/; Russian: Михаи́л Серге́евич Горбачёв, IPA:  ( listen); born 2 March 1931) is a Russian and former Soviet politician. He was the eighth and last leader of the Soviet Union, having been General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1985 until 1991. He was the country's head of state from 1988 until 1991 (titled as Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet from 1988 to 1989, as Chairman of the Supreme Soviet from 1989 to 1990, and as President of the Soviet Union from 1990 to 1991).

William James "Willem" Dafoe (born July 22, 1955) is an American actor. A member of the experimental theater company the Wooster Group, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor twice for his roles as Elias in Oliver Stone's Platoon (1986) and Max Schreck in the horror film Shadow of the Vampire (2000).
