Zhou MingJie is a psychiatrist who treats patients with mental illness. Fan GuoSheng, who had killed his own wife for the onset of psychosis, had been treated and concealed from Fan GuoSheng's accidental "killing" of an alcoholic but later decided not to hide it and to brave it all, Self-salvation.

Huang Xiaoming (Chinese: 黃曉明, born 13 November 1977) is a Chinese actor, singer, and model. He graduated from the Performance Institute of the Beijing Film Academy in 2000. Huang first rose to prominence in 2001 for playing Emperor Wu of Han in the television series The Prince of Han Dynasty. In 2007, Huang signed a contract with Huayi Brothers and began focusing on his film career, appearing in films like The Sniper (2009), The Message (2010), and Sacrifice (2010). He returned to television in 2013, portraying the national hero Yue Fei in The Patriot Yue Fei.

Fan GuoSheng is a patient with schizophrenia who once suppressed depression but still relapsed and killed his wife. Because of his mental illness, the court ruled that he was innocent and then he received treatment from doctor Zhou MingJie.

Sean Lau Ching-wan (born 16 February 1964) is a Hong Kong actor who has acted in both films and television series. He won Best Actor in the 2007 and 2015 Hong Kong Film Awards and in the 2000 and 2007 Golden Bauhinia Awards.

Bao Er is Zhou MingJie's girlfriend, both of whom work in psychiatric hospitals. Bao Er is responsible for the follow-up treatment of rehabilitation patients. Very much wanted to have a baby with Zhou MingJie.

Fiona Sit (born 11 August 1981) is a Hong Kong singer and actress.

Nina Paw Hee-ching (born 20 July 1949) is a Hong Kong actress. Her parents are actors Pau Fong (13 November 1922 – 22 September 2006) and Liu Su. Her younger brother Peter Pau is Academy Awards-winning and five-times Hong Kong Film Awards-winning cinematographer. She was married to Henry Fong, who is also an actor.
